WHY? Art promotes creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. These skills will ensure success in ALL subjects as well as your future. Who uses Art on a daily basis? Graphic designers, architects, fashion/interior designers, marketing executives, creative directors, web and video professionals, photographers, magazine editors, and more. At Marley Middle School, students engage their whole brain to create 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artworks while experimenting with a wide variety of materials and technology. We also explore how the history of Art relates to the Art of today by making career connections and applying real-world material. The art studio is a collaborative environment where self expression and originality are day to day expectations. Not to mention, our website and social network feeds are a 24/7 ART SHOW!! Follow @NeelsArtRoom on Instagram and Twitter using #MaryleyMiddleArt to see examples of student artwork and some of the projects we have created. Last but certainly not least, we are a 21st century art studio. Students use devices (i.e. tablets, smartphones, and more) to communicate and collaborate via Google Classroom, virtually critique artwork, view web resources and much, much more. All projects, rubrics, and resources are available on this website for students to access at home or at school. Feel free to browse my website, and/or email me with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
